  • Solid green: Indicates a stable connection.

  • Blinking green: Might signify activity on the connection. Amber/Orange: Could mean a degraded connection or warning.

  • Red/No light: Typically indicates a problem with the cable or connection.

How to reboot your Calix managed Wi-Fi router:

  • Locate the power source: Find the power cord connected to the back of your Calix router.

  • Unplug completely: Ensure the power cord is fully disconnected from the router.

  • Wait a moment: Allow a brief time (around 30 seconds) for the router to fully power down.

  • Plug back in: Re-attach the power cable to the router.

Is router placement important? YES!!!!

Do NOT place your GigaSpire:

  • Behind a large mirror or in a room that is separated from the rest of the home by dense building materials, like concrete or brick.

  • Next to other household devices that also emit signals that might interfere with your Wi-Fi signal, such as microwaves, baby monitors and cordless phones.

  • Next to large metal household appliances, like a refrigerator, freezer, washer or dryer.

  • On or near the floor; try to install the router at eye level (or higher), ideally on a shelf.

What is the difference  between 2.4G and 5G?

Key points about 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi:

  • Speed: 5 GHz is significantly faster than 2.4 GHz.

  • Range: 2.4 GHz has a wider coverage area and can penetrate walls better than 5 GHz.

  • Interference: 2.4 GHz is more prone to interference from other devices like microwave ovens, which can impact signal quality. â€‹â€‹

Can I set up a wired connection with my Calix managed Wi-Fi router? â€‹

You can connect your PC, Smart TV, etc. directly to the back of the Calix router using one of the YELLOW  ethernet ports..

Key points to remember:

  • LAN ports:

These are the ports you should use to connect devices like computers, consoles, or smart TVs with an ethernet cable for a hardwired connection.

  • WAN port:

This port is dedicated to connecting your router to your internet service provider's modem.
